Maricela woke that morning in a particularly fine moon. She had taken ample time to have her hair combed to perfection, after a leisurely bath. She was done up, and selected a dress not of her own design but of a favoured tailor of hers from Nacimiento. Shame she hadn't thought to bring him along, for certainly he would have had ample things to do on her behalf if not business of his own. She was, however, content with expanding her own network where dresses were concerned, and lining her own pockets. With some jewels on ears, neck and fingers, as well as a small piece pinned into her hair, she was ready to spend her day.
She thought perhaps to go collecting a few ladies to spend the day. It was sunny so far, and with those beautiful days surely numbered, it was probably wise to take advantage. Maybe a picnic. The more she thought on it, the more she loved the idea. She hadn't put together a party in a while, and though perhaps in light of the fair-haired Princess's kidnapping it was not appropriate to publicly celebrate, one was not expected to stop socializing. A picnic would do just fine. She had their scribe ready a few notes and a servant of their house's employ deliver them to a choice selection of ladies. With invitations sent, she visited the cook to demand some baskets of meats, fruits, cheeses, crackers, flagons of drink and whatever else they might need for an afternoon bite.
Though it was of quite short notice, ladies were not always hampered by the demands on their men. While they masculine counterparts were sat in boring meetings or gathering in some room or another for this or that appointment, she found the ladies were often left to their own devices. Certainly, some kept a busy schedule of their own, rigid as was unpleasant, but Maricela found that practice tasteless. She much preferred a lady who could move with some spontaneity, and ceize the opportunities of a moment. Of course, an invitation from a woman of such quality as herself was indeed an opportunity. Thus, come the time for her picnic -- set in the yards of their lofty villa in the Lavender quarter of the city proper -- she expected a fair turnout.

Hey guys! Open thread. If you have a Lady whom you think might be a friend (whether it is genuine friendship or that of status/politics/etc) to Maricela, please feel free to jump in. If you aren't sure, just ping me! Essentially, I think Maricela will have... broadened her net, of whom she might socialize with... recently. She is unlikely to keep company with a Deveraux, but if one wishes to show up, they certainly could come make a splash. I think Maricela would have plenty of friends!
