Wasting as little time as possible on the journey into Lindblum, Aneira admittedly set a rather grueling pace. They were very much on a deadline, and she wanted to arrive well before any royal messengers to alert the Spire of what was coming as a consequence of their Crown Prince's ill-judged actions. Taking rooms in the city for the trio, the morning after their arrival was intended to be a flurry of preparations. A significant impression needed to be made, regardless of the pose each portrayed, and that took time.
Trusting Sir Pierre to see adequately to himself and his attire, Aneira went to work on both herself and Lady Gwynevere, ensuring that the girl looked modest, a little shy, and harmless while she sought almost the opposite for herself once she was satisfied with Gwyn's appearance. Fortunately, Aneira was accustomed to doing for herself, making it easier on the women to prepare her. True, some assistance was needed, but within the morning, the two women were ready to launch themselves on the Lindblum court.
Descending, Aneira hoped that Sir Pierre was ready, and so too was the carriage she'd commanded cleaned; there was no way she intended to arrive at the palace in a mud-caked equipage. The musical swish of her skirts heralded her arrival, her chin held at a haughty angle as she moved through the foyer of their inn and out to the courtyard, ostensibly to inspect the carriage. Eyes narrowed, the baroness made quick work of her survey, deeming it 'adequate,' before allowing the stablemaster to aid her inside. Room was left opposite her for Gwyn; Aneira surmised that Pierre would prefer to ride alongside, rather than join the women inside the carriage.
With a lurch, the carriage set off on the brief journey to the Spire, perched loftily over the city like a looming cloud. Aneira said little, her mind going over all she would say. There was no question of admittance; a refusal was tantamount to a declaration of war. Unleashing Pierre to do wreak a little havoc was a possibility at that point, yet she kept him firmly strapped to her hip. Such action was a last resort should the Rosenquists prove foolhardy indeed.
Little enough time to reflect on possible outcomes, fortunately, as the carriage made short work of the climb along the boulevard to the royal castle. Allowing the waiting footman to assist her in alighting, Aneira made room for Gwyn to step down, glancing around for Pierre. She wanted each of these two to flank her as they demanded their audience. And demand they would...
