Egon was not having a very good morning. He had woken up late and made his way down to the docks as soon as he could to begin learning for the day on how to deal with some cargo. He was nervous because it was royal cargo, a very important royal cargo. It was mostly food but still very important because of the recipient. He was going through the list after surveying the ships and realized that one of their shipments was missing - the one heading to the Deveraux family. He had no idea what he was supposed to do about this because he didn't know how to find missing shipments, especially since the sea was such a big place. He walked quickly, panic keeping him fast and his head down as he made his way to Dederik. He was told to speak to him about this, which made him even more nervous and anxious because he hadn't met his cousin before now. He didn't want to bring him bad news either because nobody wanted to start out their day with bad news. Especially this kind of bad news.
Egon barely made eye contact with some of the other merchants and people he passed by as he walked faster. He felt the horror begin to fill him slowly. He stopped outside of Dederik's room and took a few deep breaths. Stay calm, no matter what he would have to stay calm because this would be worked out just fine. He hadn't had to deal with royals and he tried his hardest to stay away from Lords he wasn't related to. Of course they were cousins but he didn't know him well and that made this worse. He raised his hand and knocked gently but firmly before looking back at the list. This was bad, very, very bad. He tried to stand still but he couldn't do so, just couldn't. He took another few deep breaths and composed himself as he waited for a reply from the Lord. His anxiety got the better of him and he knocked again, a little more frantically. The sooner they took care of this the better. He just hoped he hadn't caught Dederik at a bad time.
