Character Name: Lucien Deveraux
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Birthdate: April 27, 1403
City / Region: Bordelaix
House [ Birth, M/arriage if applicable]: Born Deveraux
Played by: Bradley James
Appearance: Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Look up need I say more? He has a few scars now as well. One across his right cheek and another on his leg where he was stabbed.
Personality:
I’d say think Loki and multiply that, but no way… Um, he’s a confident fellow, but not arrogant unless he has to play that part. He loved looking for fun in any form, and will continue to torture someone even if they’ve had enough. He hid this part from his family of course they don’t need to know how sadistic he could get.
Luke did his best to behave, but without family around it was just too easy to get into trouble. As of late he became a pretty good liar when it came to any fist fights that he got ensnared in ensuring that it wasn’t his fault even if it was. It was hard being on his best behavior, but he wasn’t sure what his family would do or say if they knew the truth.
He takes things as they are. If someone can get one over on him he laughs it off and remembers to repay that person in kind later. He never lets it go.
Background:
Lucien was born the heir of his father not that it meant anything. Growing up an only child wasn’t easy. He should have gone out of his way to prove his worth to his family, but he couldn’t bring himself to care.
It was when he was five that it first happened. He couldn’t help himself the girl was asking for it. He waited for the right moment before placing the toad nearby. When she saw it she screamed and ran the opposite way. He had a good chuckle at her expense. He hadn’t been near the girl so he wouldn’t be blamed though. It was then that his mind started working on how to do this over and over again.
Through the years the pranking and such got him through the dull moments. When he was home he had to behave, but that didn’t keep his mind from replaying the good moments. He always had a grin on his lips making him appear jovial when he was home. None of his relation could understand it even during the bad times he was smiling. In his mind it was another joke on them. Not that he would ever say as much.
When Luke was fifteen his father caught onto his ways. He knew that something had to be done about his son's nature. Phillipe thought it best to find something for the boy to do. He found a guy in the markets so that Luce could earn his keep. It lasted a week though considering the boy's nature. His father shook his head and bided his time.
When Luke was seventeen it was suggested to the crown the boy be useful to the family. It was decided he would be trained to fight in hopes he would become a knight. Luke learned a thing or two, but wasn't interested in that. It was then he was told he would be watching over the markets. He hated the idea of this and despised every day he had to walk them.
Eight months into his new job Luke stopped a robbery. A jelrwy store owner was tending his store and closing up. Luke was nearby making sure all was as should be when he heard a muffled shout. He ran and found two men trying to rob the store. Luke got the drop on one and knocked him out cold. The other drew his sword letting the store owner go. The man ran for help. Luke ended up with the scar across his cheek and the stab wound on his leg. The man had turned to run but it was too late as the guard came and arrested both.
Writing Sample:
The poor poor soul that comes across my path. Should I really do this? Of course where’s the fun in staying home and not making someone upset? He thought whistling while he walked out of the tavern. It had started out a horrible day for him, but the prospects were looking brighter. His mind was already at work on what he could do, but he needed the right whom for this. Circumstances didn’t just happen out of the blue. Just as he was about to pass her he stopped short. An opportunity had arisen. He couldn’t pass this up.
“Hello there beautiful. Could you do me a favor? There’s a nice young fellow inside who is having a rough day and could use cheering up. Go and buy him a drink on me and flirt with him. He’s just inside at a table staring out the window holding a cup. Has dark hair and hazel eyes can’t miss him,” he said and she nodded. Luke smiled handing her some money for the drink which she took. He almost wished he could see the poor blokes face when the lady came onto him. How would the man tell his wife about this? Luke whistled as he walked away knowing what trouble he had cause.
