Two days wasn't a lot of time to prepare for a journey of a week or so, to alert those who were joining her, and to pack appropriate clothing and gear but Juliette managed it. With help from more then a few people, of course, not the least of which were her sister and cousins, setting off from Lockewood in grand style. For the youngest Deveraux, she almost didn't feel like herself, leading this delegation to the city of Lavigne to welcome their guests from Montenoire. This was her first real test as a Princess and she was determined to succeed in it. Her motivations were not the most pure, if Juliette was honest, but she was ready for the challenge.
Promises made to her sisters meant that no risks were taken and she co-operated with her knight escorts for a change, keeping to the carriage when they were in places where trouble could arise. That didn't mean Juliette didn't ride Argent every chance she got, but on the last day of their travel, she knew she and her entourage had to make a dignified arrival in Lavigne. The Delamara family was expecting a Royal Princess, her ladies, knights and guards, and that would be who they received. That morning, Juliette patiently let her maid lace her into an appropriate gown and slippers, arrange her hair and took her place in the carriage instead of riding. She had company with the ladies, thankfully, to keep her from breaking out or getting nervous.
Looking ahead as the city came into view and beyond it, the home of the Delamaras, Juliette looked at those with her and smiled. "Before we get there, thank you for coming with me on such short notice and being so patient while we traveled. We'll be staying for a few days, I think, so hopefully Lord Delamara won't mind giving us a chance to go to the sea while we're here. I'd like to see the water and the beach... and perhaps shells." Her eyes were bright, thinking of another swim, but she had to be official about it this time.
Taking a breath, the youngest Deveraux princess looked at her friends and the knights riding beside the carriage. "We're almost there. Are we all ready?"
