The oldest of the young women grinned a little at the other girls, glad Gwyn would be joining them, but also wondering if her sister and Breena would attempt a trick or two. It wasn't unheard of or out of the ordinary at all, especially when they were together. But it would be a good day, and she was glad they were there.
With the thought of this little adventure through the woods, she thought how glad she was for their way of life. The forest, the meadows, the wide open spaces...they were where she belonged, and she loved it. She even loved working in the fields beside their people, though most people wouldn't be able to understand that. Likely those who lived in the capital city would scoff at them, especially if they could see them now, but it didn't matter. Em wouldn't trade her life for the world, and most especially not for a life at court in Bordelaix, or anywhere else.
Her cousin offered his arm and she gladly took it, a smile on her face, but a challenge still sparking lightly in her eyes. She wondered what exactly he was up to and where he was leading them, yet she was excited to find out. Em actually enjoyed surprises, as long as they were good ones. The group set off through the woods and off they went, in search of this place Daragh wanted to take them. The birds were chirping and flitting about from tree to tree, and Em even saw a few squirrels as they made their way farther into the woods. It made her smile a little bit more. Though he set a good pace, it wasn't difficult for her to keep up, and it didn't stop her from enjoying the things around her.
Eimilie chatted lightly with her cousin as they walked, wondering how far it would be to the place he was thinking and letting her sister and Bree talk. She didn't have to wait too long. After perhaps half an hour they came upon a clearing, and her grin widened to find it was filled with fresh strawberries. Summer's gift, indeed. "Oh, they look wonderful!" Thoughts raced through her head about bringing some back to make tarts, but then she slid a look to her cousin. "How long have you known about this place?" Her words were quiet and likely he was the only one that heard them.
