Were the man before her start to speak of kingsblood, heirs, and the status that gave him such folklore in the Marshal's mind would fall on deaf ears. The Marshal cared little for the so called kings of Archades and their family lines, it wasn't to them that she swore her oath. Therese was the sword and shield of Estersea she would live and die by that oath, and her loyalty ran so deep that she would wage war upon those kings if her Lord ordered it. The claim of royal blood in her mind was little more than a pathetic joke crafted by those in power to protect the weak in their house, all royal, noble, or common bled when cut. Yet, at the same point she could understand loyalty, pride, and even honor to a point that one had to their own family and house. And while he looked upon her as an equal on the battlefield Therese instead saw a opponent, a sparring partner, a fighter. Were they actually on the battlefield he'd be nothing more than an obstacle for her eliminate rather than anything personal, it was how her father trained her to be.
However her first hunch that this Rys skill was proving to accurate as he blocked her first attack, and fortunately he was not holding back on account for her gender. Good, either way this would be an enjoyable spar for the Marshal. As much as Therese hated to admit it aloud she did actually enjoy some things the world had to offer including a good match. As the man blocked the woman with his left hand he had managed to push her back was stepping out and away from the reach of her weapons. The Dame spun with the movements landing herself further away from him with a raised brow. As a spear fighter he would want to keep his distance from her, it was the advance of the weapon. Those skilled with them could easily fight back several foes on their own with out taking on any damage, but to that extent there was a possible weakness of his ability to engage in close combat. Again it made the Dame curious as she circled him spinning her blades as if to bait the man closer to her as her hazel eyes watched him closely. Therese would give him the opportunity now to engage her in an attack....
