With the summer at it's peak, riding during the day was often not as enjoyable as even Em would like it to be, though she was always happy to ride whenever. Summer nights, however, were much cooler and more comfortable, and the starlight and moonlight were also rather inviting. So she'd decided to take an evening ride. The moon was starting to come up and the stars beginning to twinkle in the darkening sky as she began brushing and saddling her horse. The big bay stood quietly, enjoying the attention and eager for a run.
However, since she knew she would likely get a scolding from her cousin if she went out in the evening alone, she'd sent him a message inviting him along. She would gladly ride with a guard, instead, but she had a feeling Daragh would take her up on her offer. He needed a little relaxation, and time with family was always a good thing. Besides, the two of them were rather close, and since he'd taken on the burden of being Baron, they'd had less and less time to spend together. Eimilie tried to find whatever moments she could steal from him and clear his mind of the stress that came with his title and his duties.
After grooming her own stallion and setting his saddle and bridle nearby, she led her cousin's horse into the aisle and started to work with the brushes again. It wasn't something she minded. In fact, she loved it. The task, or any task involving horses, soothed and calmed her. Daragh would likely be along soon, but at least he would have a head start and neither would have to wait on the other. While she worked at cleaning the animal's coat of dust and dirt, she quietly hummed a happy tune, a little smile on her face all the while.
