”You don’t like the Count.”
”Oh, I like him well enough- we are of the same age, with much in common- including our love for our sisters- but do I like him as marriage material for said favourite sister?” His laughter came easy at the rhetoric and he kissed the top of her head. ”No one would be good enough for you, sweet lady.”
”Is that the only fault the Lady has to her?”
He could not abide to be serious with this conversation any longer; ”And she is a cat-person.” He shrugged, knowing that Isobel was fully aware that Tamhas often went hunting with a pack of dogs at his side and could often be found playing with the creatures down at the kennels. He was a dog person. It would never work. Whatever his internal monologue on the matter of Lady Christina, he was through giving serious consideration to the matter and preferred to fall back on the safety of jest. And, as she could not help but tease him also, the conversation seemed to flow better for his ‘going along with it’.
”Anyways, the Duke of Shelborne is unmarried isn’t he?”
”And he is old.” He snorted. ”And certainly you do not find him attractive? Sister, has someone taken your sight from you? Should I rush you to a doctor?” And playfully he scooped her up once more, if she did not fight him too hard, he would throw her so carelessly over his shoulder and make out of the room as if to find her a doctor to fix her eyes…the mention of food, however, sent him in the direction of the kitchens in order to find something for them to snack upon.
