Vyn, excited after her conversation with her Aunt Fioleth, was finally ready for a little bit of adventure. Since arriving in Bordelaix with her family, she had become something of a shy version of herself. The girl was normally curious beyond compare and getting her nose into everything, finding puzzles and enjoying solving them and discovering new and unheard of things. Vyn had always wanted to travel, she had always wanted to visit other places and document the beauty and cultures that she found. But her arrive had shocked her into silence. She had not expected the capital to be so big, so busy, and so full of people who were far beyond her imaginations. She had been afraid. But, an afternoon with her aunt and hero, had sorted that right out and a fortnight into her visit here, she was finally ready for a little daring.
She had broken her fast early that morning and had taken off into the day long before the sun had risen fully into the autumn sky. She had packed her satchel with a snack of fruit or two, and of course her note and sketch books. She very rarely was seen without the satchel, or the books she was currently working on after all. Vyn had tied her messy, wild hair back into a series of plates and pinned it in a bun at the nape of her neck – a suggestion that she meant business. But, unlike most of her adventures, she was in skirts. Not suitable for climbing walls or trees, the soft rose coloured skirts were long to the ground and cut in many layers; they suggested that her adventure was not taking her out into the wilds but within civilisation.
Vyn had not seen Juliette since before the coronation. She intended to set that right. Vyn’s adventure was taking her into the hall of the Royals- and she was not sure how far she would get before being questioned on her purpose or sent away – a place she had not dared to come until now. And today, she came alone, without invitation to find herself some princesses!
