"Just because things didn't go well with her and that man doesn't mean business can't be had. I am hoping for a marriage alliance if I can find a pair to do it with. Don't worry I'm not putting Tina or Tamhas in for either side in that. We need all the allies we can get. I think they still have something that will work for us,"
”As you wish, brother, but I will not be in the room for that meeting.” He said, simply, feeling that it made his thoughts on the matter perfectly clear. While Dederik was a count and should work within faction of that level, Ra felt that being a count to the Deveraux Royal house meant that his brother should be aiming higher than low-landing men. The Cameron’s may look mighty, but there was little word of their wealth or power about the markets and little to show for them than anything other than burly farmers who liked booze. He was not sure what Dederik saw in them as allies and felt that his brother should be seeking out more notable houses. Still, if they were a small house, perhaps they would be easily controlled and manipulated- perhaps his brother would use the slight shown as an in for staking a claim on the land? He wasn’t sure. He just had to believe that his brother knew this business and what he was doing in this matter.
At least he was sparing Tina’s feeling…sort of.
"I have thought about them too. I knew I left one out, thank you for reminding me. I want to talk to Alexa on that. There is rumor that one of the Vann's has an interest in her. I'm not sure which, but I'm sure either one of us could get a name. I do believe Cassie was there that day and could prove helpful in that,"
That would be interesting indeed. If her brothers and cousins were as well equipped for the world as the sister- it would be very interesting. This time he wet his lips and spoke; ”Though I would like to be in the room for that meeting. I-“ He paused, narrowed his eyes in thought and said; ”-have met the Lady Chatelaine of the house, a woman who appears to be a victim for she walks with a cane, but I admit that anyone who underestimates her would most quickly receive a bold clip from her tongue. She, on the time of our meeting, did not know I was who I am. So I would most enjoy revealing that to her.”
”…I might borrow hi if he proves useful…”
”I have not spoken to the boy about what it is I do, in its full extend. He no doubt has some assertions, but I have not felt ready to have a full conversation with him on the matter – it is still very earlier in the process and the boy must undergo many tests before I trust him. He had, after all, no loyalty to us and only remains in the house for his health and the food we give him. While that may be enough to buy him for now, he does not possess loyalty- perhaps you could speak to him on that also.”
”I would like to bath before dinner- if you will excuse me now?” He added, more polite than usual. Perhaps he had felt he had done enough to wound his brother thus far today?
