"I traveled there once as a child, but I don't really remember it. I want to say we went to Llwyn Newyth, but Juliette and I were very small when we did. No more than two or three, I believe-“
”Then I hope you have occasion to visit us again, Princess, I think you would fall in love with our country.” There was something of an ego about his words, but a truth too. The mountains were beautiful, peaceful and haunting. The land was a little rough around the edges but green and built in fine stone sculpture rather than the multi-purpose, fast growing city. It seemed dirty here, where the air was thick and the land was always too hot.
”-But your philosophy is wise. Living is much more important. What small things bring you the most happiness, if I may ask?"
”Will you scoff at me for romantic ideas if I told you I like walking-? My dog and I often take to the paths and the trails and will walk for hours without realising time has passed at all.” He told her, openly, relaxed in the angle of the conversation. For the topic was harmless, he hoped. And it was still remaining nice to spend a little time without the peering eyes and expectations of the court. Rys felt more himself, the man who Olympe saw and knew for his sweetness and playfulness.
"You mentioned that gatherings are much less formal in your home. Will you tell me more of those?"
”Oh, that could take many hours.” He chuckled, but said; ”There is less formality, so many less rules on how indeed to behave at a party- that’s all I mean. The music is faster, the wine is thicker and there is little place for long, thick gowns and gloves- for a lady may faint from the heat of it. At winter, when the solace is celebrated, a great bonfire is lit in the centre of the open hall and we dance around it- for it is the centrepiece of our celebration.”
