And please, call me Morgan if it pleases you…
The princess found herself distracted by such an idea to drop his title and have a conversation as if they were mere commoners. She understood the reasoning behind it, but Martine was the kind who clung to the idea of having a title. It gave her a certain bit of social distance that she liked, but he was their guest after all, “Ah right Morgan it is then. And yes...I must warn you I am likely to forget… titles are something that was drilled into my head. You know what they say about old habits…” At that, the woman offered him a knowing smile before continuing, “And since we are on informal terms you are welcome to call me Martine…”
If you decide to try it I'd like to see what you came up with if you'll let me critique it.
She blinked, “Oh now you have me frightened, you’ll break my ego when you tell me my book is utter rubbish.” There was a slight tease, “I prefer to play a song for you that I know I do well…”
That would be a good talent to have I imagine. Especially as you deal with so many people on a regular basis.
Martine nodded, “Yes, indeed, although I perhaps think too highly of myself in that regard as I tend to get too wrapped up in my own music from time to time. Sometimes I become akin to a hermit…”
I am alright for the time being I think. But now I know where to come should I have need to. Do you come here and do such or is there somewhere else you go?
“I do not, but I don’t feel the need to confess my sins…” It sounded perhaps a bit arrogant of her to say such thing and even more so in a church, but well it was one of the few truths she did not hide. The princess shrugged, “... at least to mere mortals…”
