Autumn was upon them. The colours of the city and its surroundings were somewhat different than at home in Shelbourne, less verdant perhaps, or maybe it was simply the different shapes of trees that made it seem so. It wasn't all too hard to tell however that the seasons were changing. The sun shone bright but not quite as warm as before. There was still many days before the winter would be set, thus plenty of time for Isobel to savour the experience of this change somewhere that wasn't at home.
Along with the new month came a desire to indulge in some hearty stew of a sort she might have had at home. Thoughts of such food had her wondering about her father, if he got home all right. She also worried about her mother, and whether her health was something to truly be concerned about. She figured that if things were gone for worse, they would receive word and be given leave to return home at least for a time. Perhaps it was a wrong assumption, however she didn't dwell on the thought as she was confident of an upcoming and swift recovery.
She made herself take a trip to the markets that day, in search of ingredients more commonly found or at least accessible in Marlowe. Also, she wondered about buying some fresh bread. She didn't have her things here to be able to make it herself. While she could acquire it all, she wasn't keen on revealing her aptitude in the department. So she wandered as simply an interested shopper, having her lady's maid in attendance to help carry whatever goods they chose, whilst looking for a bakery.
