Oh his son was talking to him like that huh? If it had been different he would have backhanded his boy. He didn't think that possible though. This wasn't just his boy any more. He shared him with his sister now. She even said so. He sighed. This wasn't going to be an easy meeting. He could already see that. Would she want to hear what he had to say now? He needed to say this.
He heard what she said to his son. That was true, and now it was his turn. He sighed, "he may be of age, but he is no man. I don't see him as one. A station he shouldn't have. He is not ready for such a thing. He bucked at learning what it takes to be in such a role. He has to learn it before he can be ready to be your Heir in any form. This famliy doesn't have time for him to learn such things. We need someone ready now." He said these things because they were true. This boy wanted to be a captain on some ship then fine. He had no choice in that. However, he wouldn't sit by and see his House ruined because of a mistake.
"We always bicker. Neither of us can communicate properly with the other. I say something and he is deaf to the meaning. He repeats himself in meaning and thinks I don't understand. We have always had this rift. I don't see it changing any time soon. I'm sorry, sister, but this isn't something that can be fixed so easily. Thank you for trying though," he said then heard it was time for what he needed to say to her. He wished his son wasn't in the room, but it seemed she wouldn't be dismissing him.
"I feel you are not right as head of this house. I think a grave mistake has been made. I should be head of this house. I understood our sister taking place there that seemed right. This does not. Are you even looking to the future? Where is our house going?" he said speaking from his heart. He couldn't just sit idle. He had to know. He had a feeling she wouldn't take this as something good. He accepted the tea and now he drank from it waiting to hear what her answer was to this.
