Lily was having what people would usually call a...bad day. She had been a bit grumpier than usual and wanted to be away from people so she had gone off to the garden to deal with plants instead. At least they couldn't put her in a worse mood than she already was. She had woken up with a headache and that in itself made her irritable. She then found out herbs were missing from her herb cabinet and that meant someone just took them without speaking to her first, as well as intruding in her room through the night. She wasn't happy about that at all. So here she was, pulling weeds out as she mumbled to herself when that sinking feeling one gets that they aren't alone set in. She stood up straight and looked around before noticing someone sitting underneath the apple tree. If it was a family member or somebody she had known, she probably would have let it go. She probably also would have been kinder about him being there if the day hadn't taken a wrong turn from the start. Especially since he was probably a guest in the Gardiner's home.
"Who are you and what are you doing in my garden?" She asked as she approached him, crossing her arms over her chest as she narrowed her eyes slightly. "Are you a guest here in my home? Were you invited to sit among the plants, book boy?" She asked, knowing that she might have come off a little harsher than she should have. There was no excuse for how Lily was acting but as it stood now, she certainly didn't have the patience for kindness. She would find a way to apologize and make up for this behavior later, certainly. Especially if he was a guest. Now she really hoped he wasn't a guest. She took a deep breath before trying again.
"I apologize...it is rather calming out here and the perfect place to read a book...and certainly you have a name. I'm so sorry..."
