Sadly I do not leave my homeland much.
This sudden confession might have jarred Antoinette earlier in the conversation, but by now into her brief foray into interacting with Elisabeta Montefiore had made her far more accustomed to this rather witchy woman's tendencies; and it only served to bring that Princess Royal's blue gaze briefly back to the taller, darker female beside her. " -- the Shut-In, no?" Antoinette mimed back, mimicking Elisabeta's previous words; remembering their interesting peculiarity. But before that could be remarked upon further, the Montefiore woman drew to a pause -- and Antoinette, a sigh muted on her mouth at this sudden halt -- came to a stop beside her; looking towards Elisabeta with only a half-hearted interest, blue eyes wide.
Mayhap -- Did you hear of how two sisters of House Sandoval are now Duchesses of both Seravino and Calandria? Triune forgive me. Of course you would know, you are the Princess Royal, and of course know when two powerful Houses in 'your realm' find good matches.
The purposefully pointed nature of Elisabeta's response was not lost on Antoinette, but at that juncture in their belabored conversation, the Princess simply wanted to return to the party -- the raucous sounds of the ballroom so far from where they had been now, distant in a way that made the Princess' heart ache. She wanted to find her sister and rest her metaphorical heels, to let Nicolette carry the conversation so that Antoinette could simply drink and dance, to do what felt more natural to her than the honeyed responses of her easy tongue.
To Elisabeta's jab, the Princess Royal merely shrugged -- an almost shockingly casual response -- and gave the Montefiore woman a sleepy smile. "The Sandoval's are everywhere, of late -- it is hard not to miss information about them even if I wanted to do. I suppose that is the benefit of a hungry household. One can only wish them well; although I confess my interest lay in more far-reaching unions. But marrying ones own neighbors is -- efficient, I suppose," Antoinette said lightly in return, a slight toss of her golden head. "Are you to be married, yourself, Lady Elisabeta?"
