Sleep was something the Lady Marshal did not get much of the night before considering the events of the day prior. Of course Therese had spent time making sure Kattalin was not only alright, but getting her version of the story along with discussing the events with Zorion. However beyond that she had to secure the townhouse, make sure her sisters were protected, redo the guard schedules for the next two weeks, have said schedules distributed, check on Jorge who was not only a witness, but injured in the attack, and lastly decide on not only a plan of action but redo her own schedule as well. The later went into the wee hours of the morning as the protector of the Ibarra family debated on which family were the lesser of the two evils in this situation.
Considering her personal experience the Prince Marshal Jean Luc was far more tolerable and level headed than any Sandoval that had crossed her path. And while she would eventually need to get Lord Rafael's statement if she was able to get the Lord Marshals permission to be a part of the investigation it would give her more freedom to do as she wished within the city rather than worry about keeping the investigation a secret. And perhaps she could use the connection the fact that Sandovals wished to court the Ibarra's as an advantage to suit her needs?
That line of thought is what brought the Marshal of Estersea to the waiting room outside of the Lord Marshal's office with an entourage of two men who were on duty. Certainly the timing of their arrival could be seen as odd considering she arrived perhaps maybe only a half hour after Lord Rafael stormed out of the palace. Yet, the decision was deliberate on the Dame's part as she had made a point to send one of her men ahead of time to watch the castle gates for a member of the Sandoval house leaving the castle. It was obvious they would bring this up to the attention of Jean Luc right away and Therese did not want to give away her hand just yet to the other family. The game the Ibarra's were forced to play was a dangerous so every move the woman made had to be done with caution. Of course she would likely have to deal with an enraged dragon, but there was a slim chance she could use that to her advantage.
The woman approached the desk of the aide looking directly at the young man while speaking in a calm, assertive like manner, "I'm Marshal Therese Ibarra of Estersea, it is of the utmost importance that I speak with the Lord Marshal right away."
"Do you have an appointment?"
"I have information regarding an investigation of his among other things that I must discuss with him personally." She paused, "Believe me, if the matter was not urgent I would not be wasting his or my time considering how close we are to the tournament..."
