Toria was rather silent, observing and listening at the proceedings. Her heart was beating so fast she thought it might fall out of her chest, but she managed somehow to keep her hands from trembling. Her reaction was that of excitement, rather than dread as it seemed her counterparts were feeling. Toria, not schooled on the matter of proper etiquette for these occasions, took Lizzie's lead. She curtsied when Lizzie did, something she'd been honestly practicing now that they were in the capital. Sure she'd passed by a noble before in her life and had bowed, but now the action was more refined, gracious even. She sat only when Lizzie did, and otherwise tried her best to not be an embarrassment.
She was too distracted by the rather gorgeous Prince to notice Sir Tyber's reaction. Her eyes moved to Lizzie when the Prince was looking straight at her, and she felt herself hopeful for Lizzie's happiness. She tried to read her Lady's face, but it was rather too prepared, and would have to wait with unfelt patience to hear it all from her perspective later. When she was introduced, it took her a bit by surprise, in the fashion of a doe caught in the headlights. She could feel the Royal duo glance in her direction and cast her eyes to the floor with immediacy, while sucking in her breath. She did not see the blonde man's eyes stray a moment on her.
Even ignorant to the circumstances, however, Toria could not altogether ignore the undertones spoken. Perhaps it was her ear playing tricks, but with the way the Sinclair family had reacted to the news so far, it seemed to her there was tension in the air. She, not acclimatized to the same political acumen the others wielded, was ignorant of Lord Gideon's actions, and concentrated instead on Lizzie, and the words spoken. With bated breath, she awaited to hear the confirmation of just who was to be betrothed to who.
It was only because she had expected this possibility that Toria did not gasp aloud to hear that Lady Elizabeth was to be betrothed to Prince Stephane. The Princess, beautiful in her own right, seemed so pleased, so happy, so with the good news. Lizzie, she could see, was understandably shocked, and Toria was easily by her side if she wanted a hand to hold. As it was, she put a gentle hand to her back, a means to show her support and happiness. Her eyes widened, looking only to Lizzie to hide it from the Royals, when she asked to see a copy of the paperwork. She only hoped that things didn't fall to pieces by too much poking and prodding.
