The visit in Vasile was soon to end, and if she believed what Mariette said, their next destination was Shelbourne as guests of the Gardiners. Juliette couldn’t be happier to hear it. She hadn’t had much of a chance to talk with Rosemary or spend any real time with her as her sisters and Rose’s family kept them apart thanks to being busy. Deciding to track her friend down for a long-overdue walk-and-talk, Juliette didn’t bother to send a servant. She went herself, carrying a basket that she’d sweet-talked the Vanderhall cooks into packing for her.
The days in Vasile were much cooler then Bordelaix and the mountains just begged to be explored. Rosemary shared her love for adventure, but today at least, Juliette wasn’t trying to get rid of the knight who shadowed her. Promises had been made, so they had to be kept. She didn’t make it easy on the poor man, but knights of the Royal Guard were used to the youngest Princess being a handful. A bright smile was on her face as she searched the hallway where she was told the Gardiner family had their rooms.
Counting the doors until she found the one she had been told was given to Rosemary, Juliette restrained her urge to just burst through the door and swamp her friend with a hug. That wasn’t dignified and it wasn’t very polite. Rosemary could be… well, it wasn’t the right kind of surprise. Instead, Juliette knocked softly to see if her friend was in and able to be coaxed out for the afternoon. It was too nice a day to waste in sleep!
