Since coming to Bordelaix, Sophie had more and more reason to smile, and fewer reasons to lose her temper. True, there were a few more restrictions on her movements here than in Pistoia, but Giulia made it clear that it was for her safety and protection, not to mention her twin's peace of mind. With such motivation in place, objecting or protesting was highly inconsiderate of the other half of herself. And in doing so, Sophie probably gave Benedicto less frustration and fewer headaches. Everyone stood to benefit from that concession.
She'd doubted that Ben would object to her increased creativity or production, considering the impact on the family's coffers, especially with a wedding in the offing. Typically the bride's family provided the monies for the wedding, but Ben still had to pay a bride's price, arrange suitable gifts for the bride and her family, new clothing, a ring for the bride, and so on. A fresh influx of coin into the family account could only help. "I will, thank you," Sophie answered her brother with commendable politeness.
Listening to him speak of his prospective bride, Sophie closed her eyes, the better to draw a mental image of the lady from his words. Blonde haired and blue eyed, likely fair complected, if not alabaster. Nodding for him to go on, she smiled at his rather romantic description of her as a rose. It gave her some ideas, but she wanted to clap eyes on the lady for herself. "Point her out to me, but no introductions yet. I want to watch her without her knowing." If a person knew they were being observed, their behaviors and actions tended to alter as a consequence. Sophie wanted to see Evony Deveraux conducting herself naturally and without influence.
