Character Name: Fede Ibarra
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Birthdate: October 30, 1409
City / Region: Gilboa, Estersea
House [ Birth, Marriage if applicable]: Ibarra
Played by: Monica Keena
Appearance:
Like all of the Ibarras, Fede has dark hair and darker eyes, but unlike her sister and cousins, she has a very fair complexion. She stands out from them, knowing she is not as beautiful as her cousin Kattalin or her sister Therese, by wearing neutral colors. Fede often dresses in whites and creams, her long, dark hair left loose or clipped back from her face. She is not very tall, being around the same height as Kattalin, but she is very graceful.
Personality:
Fede is very much a true Ibarra. Everything is felt deeply, no matter what the emotion is. She is fiercely proud of her name and of her family, of her sister's accomplishments (even if she wishes that Therese would at least be a little more feminine some times), and of Gilboa. She is angry for all that Fate has done to try and bring her family low, and she is determined to make sure that the Ibarras return to glory all their own. Being the Wardens of Estersea isn't enough. Zorion and Therese and Kattalin all need to be seen as the very best of Archades, and Fede intends to make sure that they will be.
She is not a shy girl, being outspoken and opinionated. Fortunately, Fede is intelligent and she works with her cousins to make sure she stays in the know. Three heads working together will accomplish more then just one. She is also a realist, knowing that gains require sacrifices and that some times plans don't always work out the way you want. Not afraid to work hard, she is just glad that what is left of her family stays close and united. They need to be strong together, and she looks at herself as part of that net, ready to catch any member of the family that falters. For now, she is okay with being in Kattalin's shadow, knowing that her time to shine will come.

Background:
She is the youngest of Mikael Ibarra's three daughters, born in the heart of the autumn on a blustery night, one of the coldest in Estersea's memory. Fede came into the world with a howl that matched the wind, a small baby with good, strong lungs that made it clear she didn't like the cold.
Making herself very clear did not stop with her birth. Even as a toddler and a little girl, Fede did not see any reason not to tell people what she thought. Mikael and his wife did not have to worry over their daughter telling the truth. Instead, they despaired over teaching her how to express herself more discreetly and when to keep that opinion to herself. She was not very close to her oldest sister, Arrosa, who married young and went off to Desrochers, but Fede admired her sister Therese, who was tall, strong, and capable. And Therese was not afraid to prove herself, but didn't shoo away her little sister. There was some hero worship there. Growing up alongside Kattalin, Fede quickly became her cousin's confidante, and along with Rosalinda Sandoval, the three girls were good friends. It helped to fill the hole left when Therese went off to become a squire. No-one was more proud then Fede when her sister was knighted.
Now at eighteen, her education completed, Fede works with Kattalin to keep the family name shining, and defends Therese against their mother's fussing about how it looks, having a daughter who is a knight. For Fede, Therese's knighthood is a great honor, and she resents her mother's criticism, calling on their father to keep their mother in check.
She is uncertain of her own future, knowing that her time to marry and go to court will come once Kattalin has found her own match. But like Kattalin, Fede intends to help re-build the Ibarra name, and to do what-ever she has to in order to make sure that her family is returned to their former glory.
Writing Sample:
Marie-Louise wanted to be alone after the family talk in the summer-house and not listen to everyone hash what cousin Nicolette had to say over. There was plenty of high emotion in the room after the Crown Princess swept out, and it left the youngest Deveraux very uncomfortable. Slipping out before anyone could stop her or notice that she had gone, she decided that a good place to think would be the stables.
The Gardiner horses were famous, even in Bordelaix. Wanting to see them, Marie-Louise waited until some of the stable-hands passed before she approached one of the stalls. The head that appeared to sniff made her laugh softly, her hand held palm up for the horse to take her scent in. He was a handsome, proud horse, tossing his head with a whicker and a gleam in his eye that settled when she gently stroked his nose. "Oh, you like that, do you?" Whispered to him, Marie-Louise reached up a little to scratch at the fore-lock.
She thought she was alone, starting to move to the next horse when she felt herself nudged in the back. Looking back, she laughed again. He nudged her again, obviously looking for more attention. Marie-Louise obliged him, talking softly as she scratched and petted, feeling his neck arch. If horses preened, he was definitely doing that, enjoying every minute of it. It was comforting to her. Animals did not judge or talk down to her, or treat her like she was nothing more then a little girl. She couldn't stay too long, but being around the horses was pleasant for her. Some day she would have to learn how to ride...
