His steps were brisk as Marcus made his way through Vanderhall’s deeper halls that delved deep into the mountains. The amount of torches required to light these regions made it incredibly warm during the summer months despite being down under the ground, but the research facility had a strange path of going down before it came up into another part of the mountain that was next to natural light. There was a small, sealed letter in his hands as he made his way through to the place where he knew Alexander would likely be tucked away.
Thoughts and conversations that had transpired in the past still lingered in his mind. Marcus played with some ideas but, for now, was not certain on whether or not it would be the best of choices. Instead, he opted to throw the bait into the shark-infested waters and see how the chum held up before making a final decision. The guards by the door quickly announced his presence to those inside and immediately opened the doors to let him in. There was no place in Vanderhall, or all of Vasile for that matter, where he was not allowed to enter the second he wished. In truth that still brought a childish bit of giddy glee from within, but he held it back.
Making his way inside, Marcus had to stop in his tracks as he saw the place was certainly a cacophony of multiple projects still in session. He could only look about in amazement before glancing to Annemarie and giving her a look of confused sympathy. Obviously there was no jest in the fact that the space provided had all been consumed by Alexander’s scholarly exploits. However he had more important things to address at the moment, and it was already made clear weeks ago that expansion was not on the docket…not yet, anyway.
Clearing his throat, he carefully stepped through the stacks of books and haphazardly stacked supplies before approaching Alexander. “Alex, I want to speak with you real quickly. Think you can pull yourself away?”
