Under the instruction of riding with his family to Bordelaix, Tamhas had left his home lands several days ago. They had been travelling on horse, with two caravans being trundled along too for the comfort of the journey. He felt annoyed that Callum had insisted on staying at home, he felt furious actually and it bubbled under the surface for the first few days of the journey. While he understood that his brother wished to stay in the country he loved he felt that there was something deeper going on with the brother he held so dear and Tamhas was beginning to fear that his brother was going a little bit rogue in his ambition to love his country. Still, it left Tamhas in charge of getting the rest of the family to the capitol.
The road had been somewhat uneventful and the journey- while tiring- had been a relaxed one. They had taken their time and enjoyed the country air. They had had many gracious hosts for the evenings where they did not feel the need to journey on and they had enjoyed many homely parties with the people of their country. But as they crossed the border, the weight of what lay ahead felt numbing Tamhas’s skin. His father and little sister had left several weeks before the messenger had come and it was the first time Tam had felt the levity of hi position.
His family were anxious to ride on and he had permitted them to go ahead, choosing to take just a handful of men with him and seek out the house in Lavigne. It was not a pre-arranged thing and it was simply to state his curiosity. A few days behind the visiting royals, he was unaware that he had just missed crossing these paths. It was a spontaneous thing to take the left off the main highway. He kissed his mother and sister goodbye and let them carry on ahead to meet his father in the Capitol before he took to the road on horseback and went to see how the rest of the world was preparing for the biggest event in several years.
The bay he rode was a beast, a warrior horse, with thick legs and thundering hooves. And atop the animal, Tam looked like a gladiator, dressed in furs and leathers, despite the late summer son, he was burly and strong, and under his clothes several glorious muscles rippled as he tightened his thighs and pulling on the rein. Only five of them rode towards the grand home of the Delamara family. The wind rushed against his skin as he rode ahead of the guardsmen, a caw like a crow coming from between his lips as he laughed and raced. After all, Tam was still a young man and he had a love of a little fun.
