Once the Sforza family was comfortable ensconced within their Lavender Quarter home and recovered from their journey, Flavia was ready to begin making herself known. The first order of business, of course, was to reunite with her long-time friend (and some time ally), Prince Stephane. Trusting that he too had sufficient opportunity to enjoy the return to his home, she deemed it time to venture to the palace in the hopes of seeking the Prince out for a stroll through the lush Royal Gardens where they could talk and renew their friendship. And if in the process, they encountered others who held use to House Sforza, then Flavia intended that Sofia join her to seize the opportunity.
Requesting that her sister prepare herself appropriately to join her in the afternoon's plan, Flavia attended to her own appearance as well. As a Sforza, she had a reputation to maintain for lavish elegance and stunning fashion. Putting herself into her maid's deft hands, a gown of ivory and gold was laced on, her golden hair dressed in a confection of curls, pearls and gold chains with a plumed, brimmed hat set at a rakish angle. A gold locket circled her throat from a delicate chain starred with diamonds, adding to the overall effect of a sumptuous costume.
With her sister in tow, the two Sforza ladies were handed into a promptly waiting carriage to convey them to the Chateau's gardens. Little was said along the way, as Flavia was mostly lost in thought about who might be present and how best to divide and conquer. Fortunately, the journey was brief, the ladies alighting to begin their stroll through the vast array of late summer flora, two glittering flowers under the afternoon sun.
Lifting her parasol into place, Flavia smiled at her sister. "Are you ready, Sofia? Let us see what old friends have gathered here."
