The Deliambres arrived well ahead of most of Archades's notable families, granting them a subtle advantage of being prepared much more swiftly. They had little waiting time for seamstresses and tailors, supplies and jewelers, anything that they needed to acquire. Each of his sisters present in Bordelaix, along with Catalina, required new attire for the Coronation. Cesare was still recovering, and his brothers were about their own business, leaving the Duke free to pursue his own agenda. One of the very first names on that agenda was the Marquess of Estersea.
A politely worded note was sent to the Marquess's Bordelaix residence once Antonin caught wind of his arrival in the city; Lord Ibarra was invited to meet with him on the morning of his choosing at a convenient hour to discuss matters of mutual interest in business. The Deliambre duke was aware of the flow of trade through the northern port city of Gilboa, intending to speak with the Marquess to determine if he held interest in forging an agreement for items shipped to and from his city. Lorenzo had been slated to handle it, yet his brother seemed distracted of late, compelling Antonin to resolve the matter personally.
He was a patient man, enjoying a piece of fresh fruit while he stood in the shade of a warehouse, observing the traffic as it rumbled through the streets. Wagons entered the squares empty, arriving at their respective warehouses to load up and then rumble back towards the market in pursuit of the day's sales and profits. Everything moved through the quarter, he noticed, from foodstuffs to furnishings, to commodities and so on. If there was business to be conducted in Bordelaix, then its heart was here.
Antonin rather looked forward to it. He hoped to reach a number of agreements in the days to come.
