Brought along to the palace by her father, who had the Crown Princess's summons to answer, Daniela promised not to leave the grounds but to endeavor to enjoy the day. He was clearly looking forward to getting this done, allowing him to return to Terre Verde where he clearly preferred to be. She had a sneaking suspicion Antonio intended to solicit Lord Montefiore's agreement to ward her in the city, the better to allow her a chance to enjoy court and - though he refused to voice such a thought out loud - find potential spouses for herself and her cousin Susanna. Wisely done on his part, as far as Dani was concerned; she was only seventeen, for heaven's sake, and Susanna was not much older. There was plenty of time yet.
For now, she wandered the grounds of the chateau with interest, exploring the public areas and taking care not to venture where she likely should not. Daniela walked the area with a sunshade made of stiffened lace to better prevent her fair skin from burning, passing the occasional courtier or gardener, she supposed, with a cordial smile. Few knew who she was, which was fine with her. She rather enjoyed being mysterious, though likely her cousin Donato would have some sly remark to cast in that regard. Smiling to herself with the thought of Donato and their recent misadventure in the chapel, Dani spared a thought in his direction, wondering what progress he'd made.
She would have to hunt him down for a conversation this evening, she decided, once they completed their business at the palace. In the meantime, Dani started down a path, not realizing it was a bridle path for riders when the sounds of hoof beats approaching at speed reached her ears. She glanced over her shoulder to see a mounted form approaching and hastily nipped out of the way. What in the name of the Triune? Frowning, she was in no real danger of being ridden down, but how had she failed to recognize where she was walking?
With that, the horse and his rider cantered smoothly past, revealing the man to be one of the Royal Knights, if she recognized the emblem on his tabard correctly. Intrigued, Dani turned towards the form moving away, only to receive a rather rude parting gift from the horse - a clump of moist dirt flew from his rear hoof, splattering the pristine white skirt of her gown. Startled, the lady let out a most undignified yelp as she gazed down at her skirt in dismay.
Well, wasn't this just the cap on the day?!
