The mornings were Daniela's to enjoy as she pleased while Antonio waded through the inevitable arrival of letters and other items of business from Terre Verde. Despite employing a very capable steward, there were still plenty of items that required the Count's own attention and response; normally, Daniela herself sorted through those, tending to some herself as Antonio's heir and leaving only those that demanded her father's decisions for him, but this morning, he'd shooed her away to take in the markets' new offerings and assess how the latest arrival of the 1420 barrels of red were selling.
All too willing to oblige him, she departed the house in a linen dress of ivory trimmed in burgundy, wearing a broad-brimmed hat in lieu of carrying a parasol. The brim was tied with a festive ribbon that fluttered in the breeze as she walked with a guard fairly close at hand. Much as Dani disliked having the man there, she did not presume to disobey her father's command in that regard. There were Sforzas in the city; he took no risks and refused to permit her to take any. Donato was otherwise occupied, alas, so she made do with one of the standard house guards. He knew her well, fortunately, so kept his mouth closed and his eyes open, seeming as unobtrusive as a Savarese's guard could be while openly warding off anyone who considered approaching his charge.
Arriving in the markets, Dani availed herself of some fresh fruit and a mug of cider for her companion before she settled in on one of the available benches near to the wine sellers. A nod acknowledged the shallow bow from their agent in the Bordelaix markets, pleased the man noticed her presence despite the brisk morning's business. Prepared to spend some time watching, she was unaware of others who might be watching her.
