Character Name: Rosa Capitani ("Rosie" to her family)
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Birthdate: December 1408
City / Region: Laguardio, Calandria
House [ Birth, Marriage if applicable ]: Capitani
Played by: Emma Watson
Appearance:
Rosa is a slender woman of average height. Her pale skin deeply contrasts with her dark brown eyes, though her most noteworthy feature is her high note bridge, which gives her a striking profile. Her thin brows arch gracefully over her slightly down-turned eyes––despite the sad look of them, Rosa's smiles always manage to reach her eyes and light up her face beautifully. The proportion of her abdomen to her legs is very even, which makes her seem taller than she actually is from a distance. Rosa's sharp jawline is also a striking feature, though from certain angles it gives her a slight air of masculinity that some people may judge as unfortunate. However, Rosa is confident in her appearance, though she is not vain. She believes that all people possess a beauty in their souls that reveals itself through one's actions and words, and she has faith that her own soul is beautiful, whatever her outer looks may be. Rosa enjoys fashion, though she is somewhat particular and does not simply go with fads for the sake of being fashionable. Her interest in clothes is mostly a byproduct of her appreciation of beauty and art in the world, not out of a false vanity, and she enjoys a beautiful dress on another woman or a good suit on a man as much as she enjoys wearing pretty things.
Personality:
Many people refer to Rosa as a "free spirit." She loves adventure and exploration more than anything, and Rosa spends a majority of her time sketching things she sees outdoors. In her words, this is an attempt to capture the beauty of the natural world with her own hands so that she may contemplate it fully. When Rosa is not sitting out in the garden or traipsing about the countryside, she enjoys spending time with her family. There are few delights she favors more than a meal with those she loves best in the world. Rosa often frets over her family and their happiness, especially because of the rift that has formed between her brother Horatio and her father. Always doing her best to calm the situation, Rosa often devises plans and executes them with the clumsiness of a young and naive woman. No one can doubt her intentions though. Those who know her well recognize that Rosa genuinely wants what is best for those around her, and she does not often worry over her own welfare. Her life has been so favored, she believes, and Rosa has very few demands or expectations for the future. She has a completely open heart, and fears no challenge in the days to come. The only thing that troubles Rosa is the well being of her family. Sometimes her carefree and passionate nature––which has a tendency towards the temperamental when she is challenged in some way––causes others to misunderstand or dislike her. But she is not a hard person to get along with, unless you have given her a particular reason to dislike you.

Character History:
Rosa's family has had difficulties in the past, but her life has not been personally touched by much of the strife of the Capitani's tense history. She was raised by a caring father and doting brothers, and there were few worries placed on her shoulders growing up. However, the relationship between her father and her brother Horatio has deteriorated in recent years. This rift caused much pain for Rosa, who loves her family and wants them to get along. Her concern was particularly for her father. She would watch him try his best to do what he believed to be right for his son, and Horatio didn't seem to appreciate his efforts at all. The early selfishness that might have taken root in Rosa was replaced by an overwhelming concern for others, specifically for her father and brother, and much of her attentions shifted to mending the rift that had formed between them. As she has aged, Rosa has not gained much experience with life outside the boundaries of her home, and she often imagines traveling to far off places and encountering many new adventures.
Writing Sample:
Rosa glanced at the clock, which sat on the mantle over the fire and ticked scoldingly at her impatience. The needle that was pressed firmly between her fingertips seemed intent on punishing her drifting attention, as every few stitches made in her torn gown resulted in a prick and a wince of pain.
"Your afternoon ride will come soon enough, Lady Rosa," her governess said with an indulgent smile.
"Forgive me," Rosa said with a sigh. "I hate to be so cooped up on a fine day. I think I shall take Ferdinand to that alcove just beyond the river. The leaves there still hold to their branches. Should I bring my oil pastels?" the girl mused as she pricked her finger several more times. The lady sitting across from her shook her head and repressed a laugh at her young mistress' antics. Rosa was oblivious to everything as she sank into her thoughts, or rather preparations for her outing later in the day. She was sure the stablehand would have Ferdinand ready and waiting as soon as her sewing hour was passed. Perhaps she should gather her art supplies now, just to make sure she wasn't late? It would be rude of her to keep the stablehand waiting, after all.
"Go now, if you wish," her governess said. "Just make sure to come back before the supper bell rings."
"Thank you!" Rosa said with a dazzling smile. Her sewing work was cast aside immediately as she made her way to her room, where she knew she would find her pastels in her art box, along with her papers and sketching implements. Though disorganized in general, Rosa was always fastidious about her drawing things, preferring to know just where they are when she wanted them. It did not take her long to pack the things she wanted into a knapsack that she slung over her shoulder. With a hop and a skip, the young lady was out the door and heading for the stables for her daily ride. It promised to be a good one, too, which made it all the more exciting!
