Character Name: Gabriele Savarese
Age:26
Gender: Male
Birthdate: October 3rd 1401
City / Region: Terre Verde, Seravino
House [ Birth, Marriage if applicable ]:Born Savarese
Played by: Tom Riley
Appearance: Gabriele has chin-length dark hair that he pulls back into a small bun when crushing grapes. He prefers to not shave, although he will keep his beard clean and even. He is not a vain man but simply believes in keeping a good appearance as people judge very easily by looks. He prefers to wear light clothes, sticking to tunics in earthy tones and trousers of the same color palate. His eyes hold most of his emotions, shining when he is happy and looking empty when he is sad.
Personality: Gabriele’s wisdom is like the wine he creates, a product of age and patience. He learned very quickly how to command the vineyards as well as quickly how to use a sword, cook, and paint. He is a man with a sense of humor but who knows when to be serious. He is wicked loyal to his family and is dedicated to the vineyards. Although he is a man who works hard, he does know how to and when to have fun. Gabriele is also kind, although one does not want to get on his bad side. He is not one who trusts easily and it is not easy to earn his full trust. Despite this, he is not hard to get along with but puts many metaphorical walls between him and others unless they are his family.
Specific Skills or Abilities: Wine-making, cooking, sword-fighting, writing, and painting
Character History: Gabriele was born into a family that would end up being split by tragedy but at the time of his birth, his father nor his mother or his brother would have known these things. He was a very quiet child but very intelligent, learning very quickly. He loved his family very much and was heartbroken by the war that broke out between them. He was especially heart broken when he lost his brother, having been very close to him. He became angry over this before it defused into sadness, him still honoring his brother to this day. He can sometimes be found with two glasses of wine at the table, a candle lit by the wind cup instead of another person there. He has a burn scar across his back from trying to protect his own mother in the midst of everything, the attack on them having been rough. He would do anything to protect his family and it’s his goal to stay as close to them as possible just in case, fear deep within him still.
One could say Gabriele was that of the wine, him having grown up with it his whole life. He had learned very quickly how to grow the grapes and how to ferment, crush, and store them. He picked up on the trade quickly, very happy to be spending the time with his father. He became one of the Master Vintners of the Savarese House, having a divine gift for understanding the grapes and how to coax the finest musts from them. He had developed a passion for this pastime, taking it onto himself to be a crafter of wine. He still does this to this very day. Advising Lord Savarese on the crops, the grapes and the casks, he is the envy (and the enemy) of the other wine-producing houses.
He also works with Daniela as a sort of regent, happy to help out his family members.
Writing Sample: Gabriele had just finished crushing a fresh barrel of wine, having placed a cork in it and writing the date down on the barrel. He had gone then to rinse his feet off before proceeding to take care of the other grapes in the field that needed plucked. He had just brought the basket in and had set it down when he saw his father waiting for him. “Papa, why are you so solemn?” He asked before he felt his heart drop into his stomach as he saw the note in his hands. Notes were never good news. “Father?”
