Character Name:
Olympe Danette Deveraux
Age:
19
Gender: Female
Birthdate:
27 May 1408
City / Region:
Bordelaix
House [ Birth, Marriage if applicable ]:
Born Deveraux
Played by:
Jenessa Grant
Appearance:
Olympe is 'blessed' with a pale complexion, easily burnt in the midday sun, which is when the sparse oddity of freckles seem to poke through. They only last so long as she is burnt, and then hide away again until the next time she stays out too long in the warm. Her face is round and her smile is large, beaming nearly constantly with a jovial expression. Her teeth are well kept, white, though when she grins they look almost too large to be in such a small mouth. With her smile it also looks as though her upper lip shrinks into a pale pink (or whatever color she decides to wear on any given day) strip. Her ears are rather large, but the constant braids she keeps her golden hair in, stretching down to her mid spine, helps to hide that fact and makes them look natural and normal. She is average in height as far as women go, her body taking on the typical hourglass shape, average build, though her bosom is small. She is an attractive young lady, to most, and her exuberance only aids in that notion of beauty.
Personality:
Olympe is always on the go, or she feels as though she needs to be. She cannot seem to just settle down for any given moment, always lively and happy and restless. The only time she finds peace is at night when she sleeps, but even her dreams keep her active. When she needs to sit still for anything, be it a meeting or something, she will fidget unconsciously. She is genuine and kind and generous, willing to help out those around her or give things to those she is closest to. She does, however, tend to lack the determination to finish things she starts which is why she typically will not agree to a large job or duty if she can help it, to risk the disappointment she knows is sure to follow for her 'failures'. It seems that Olympe does not have a mean bone in her body, and her mind cannot comprehend evil in any form. Because of this she is naive to a fault, all too trusting of everyone she meets and will constantly give the benefit of the doubt. She strives to only see the good in everyone, and sometimes she will ignore the faults (especially the more heinous of acts) because in her eyes everyone is good. Olympe can also be called an adventurer, often times trying to seek a thrill or dabble in some good hearted mischief with her twin Olivier, as much as she can to stay clear of the court and away from the political matters of the realm. For that, she has no taste and one day she is going to wake up from her fairytale life and be thrust into it. But for now, she avoids and hopes it does not catch up to her (as best as one can). Aside from politics, she has a disdain for slimy creatures such as frogs and slugs, despises the taste of all sorts of wines and spirits, and cant's stand apples. Olympe also has an astonishing sort of loyalty to her family, especially to her estranged brother Lucien who she is desperately trying to win back over to the family again. It may cause her downfall later in life, to be so devout to her kin, but for now she is safe to practice.
Specific Skills or Abilities:
Gardening
Horsemanship
Drawing and painting
Climbing and balance
Dancing - especially the more sensual styles of her mother's heritage
[Original skills from Keys, elaborated by myself]
Character History:
Born the third child of the third child of a king, Olympe was too far from the throne to ever need to worry about the weight of the crown upon her blonde head. The fact that she was born mere minutes after her twin mattered little in the line of succession since it would never affect her other than to which uncle, cousin, or distant relation she would need pay her respects most deeply to.
An unimportant princess in the grand scheme of family hierarchy, Olympe was allowed more freedom than those closer to the crown, and what freedom she was not offered, she would take. Olympe was not close to either of her parents and it is perhaps this fact above all others that granted her the most freedom. Often the victim of Luce's pranks in childhood, she learned to play his games, and on occasion even outwitted him, usually with the assistance of Olivier.
She and her twin were inseparable as children, even wishing to have the same lessons taught them. This extended only as far as the classroom, not to the practice yard. She was forbidden from it, though that hardly stopped her from climbing a wall, tree, trellis, or anything else in a vertical position that would allow her a clear view of whatever lessons Olivier was learning without her. It was often during those times that she would use a piece of coal to draw a funny scene with overly large heads and small bodies of those around Olivier which she could share with him later.
Despite being raised on the fringes of court life, she took no more interest in the goings on of the nobles, or royals for that matter, than she was forced to endure by her family. Instead, she took interests in other things like reading, drawing, horseback riding and exploring the countryside. Some of these tasks were better performed while dressed in simpler fashions, so simple, in fact, she could almost be mistaken for a peasant. The anonymity allowed her more freedom than she ever had as a Deveraux.
As they aged, more and more activities separated Olympe from Olivier, their opposite genders being the dividing factor. She was not allowed to some of the glorious revelries young men of his age could partake in, and he had little desire to have tea, or sew, embroider, or play instruments. In spite of this, they still get together occasionally to cause harmless mischief, and confide in one another.

Writing Sample:
It was morning, the sun was out and dazzling those that were awake at such an hour, its warmth already blanketing the landscape. There were a plethora of birdsongs outside her window, and it was what caused Olympe to wake with the sun and the feathered friends. Her eyes opened slowly, but immediately upon consciousness her telltale smile parted her lips. She slowly rose, stretching, and looking longingly out the window and hoping someone would be awake too, to help her greet the day. She put on one of her most favorite dresses, a pearl and silken gold color, before wandering the grounds for anyone she could say good morning to. There weren't as many out as she had hoped, and so she reluctantly went back to her room and stood in front of the window, feeling the cool breeze sweep through and into her room and she sighed in contentment. Olympe turned then, and made her way to her easel, which was sitting at another window over looking the gardens. She picked up her brush and the paints, and looked at her unfinished work of art sitting there. She couldn't finish things she started when it came to people and promises, but if it was art, a drawing or a painting, she made sure she could do it justice and paint until it was done, until she felt it was done. And thus, she painted.
