The letter penned to her from Princess Mariette was yet another exciting moment in the recent months this summer. It seemed young Gwynevere's dull life was changing with each new day since August. And now with her birthday past the girl could be among the esteemed ladies who were seventeen years of age. Although the feeling wasn't immediate, young Gwyn was certain that some wisdom, or maturity from another year of living had indeed developed. Yet, the girl refused to be completely mature or even dare say it dull by being too sensible. Hmm, finding a balance between her new found maturity and her mischievous youth was certainly a dilemma wasn't it?
The young lady was pondering this very problem as she waited in the healers gardens for the Princess. The skilled blue eyes of a budding herbalist were gazing over the flowers spot checking for any nasty weeds, or plants in need of pruning. Were it not for the fact she was meeting with the Princess, Gwyn would start biding her time by pulling some weeds, however she did not want to get her lovely blue dress dirty. Working at the castle the girl found that she had to compromise on wearing less fashionable clothing when in the gardens. How could she meet new acquaintances while wearing tattered clothes, or worse yet what would happen if Princess Antoinette would have seen her? Certainly, Gwynevere's social life would essentially be ended if certain rumors were spread!
Still, the temptation to fix some problem areas was becoming very distracting, so much so that the seventeen year old did not realize she was softly singing a made up song to herself on the very subject of weeds.
