Adele had heard of the Delamara family. They were a vassal underneath the Deveraux family and lived in Lavigne. They were very big on the importing and cargo business. These were practical facts but there was an emotional one that Adele had sniffed out and that was the one that pointed to the fact the family seemed slightly divided. She figured she could weasel her way through that tiny fissure and turn it into a big crack, divide and ask for alliance from the side that seemed to be causing the division. They seemed a good family, a kind family. Intelligent and practical. The Blackthorne family could earn a great deal by an alliance. So what if Adele paid a thief generously to stage this? It fed a lowly human and helped her cause.
She had been walking through the markets, the day clear and sunny. It wasn't too hot nor too cold and all was quiet despite the usual hustle and bustle of the market place. She had waited to pass Franz Delamara, catching him out of the corner of her eye when a man sprinted up out of the crowd and took a small satchel off of her as well as the pearls around her neck, the claps breaking as he pulled. Well that wasn't part of the deal. "Hey!" She shouted after him, going to grab his jacket but missing as he took off. "Those are my mothers, get back here!" She shouted before looking distressed around the crowd. She turned to face Franz then. "Please sir, those pearls mean the world to me and there isn't any chance I could catch him...I will pay you for your efforts but please..." She said, tears filling her eyes. They really were her mother's pearls and she couldn't even imagine losing them but it seemed she had.
