Regan Connell was a girl with a very large heart. Any person or animal that was hurting or in need of help meant she was there, doing what she could for them, no matter what. Even as a child, she'd brought home strays, whether kittens, puppies, birds or squirrels, and the occasional lost child, pleading to help heal them and if possible, keep them. How her parents and siblings hadn't been driven noisily mad by the sheer menagerie of animals the redheaded girl kept, she didn't know, but the habit did not alter now she was an adult.
In Dev, she found a soul that had formed incorrectly and a wounded heart. Naturally, she could no more resist trying to help the young man than she could cease to breathe, though admittedly, Regan was not entirely sure how to begin. One thing was for sure, she would need her siblings' help with Dev. He needed the influence and friendship of good, true men, and who better than her brothers? Ruadhan had been instrumental in helping mould Aemrys Cadag into a man, and he'd turned out splendidly. And Liam had a saint's patience for teaching others how to be forthright, honorable and generous. Surely they could tell her how to begin!
With that in mind, she rose early and went to tap lightly on Liam's door to catch him for a private word before breakfast. She had done him a bit of a favor the other day - gladly so, of course - but now she hoped to ask one of him in return. Trying not to fidget as she waited for permission to enter, the youngest Connell drew in a deep breath and prepared herself to ask.
