She did not have a good feeling about this...
Martine had received the note with her breakfast that morning informing her that her brother wished to meet with her in his study. Blue eyes had stared over the contents of the paper, reading and rereading the words written on the page several times as if searching for some hidden message or meaning. Stephane was not the typical older brother who doted upon his little sister, but instead at best ignored her existence. No, the note would be one of two outcomes, either she had done something to offend his senses or he wanted something from her.
Finally putting the note secretly away the woman went to dress for the day ensuring that the gown she choose for the day would be of her brother's approval, so she could at least remove that lecture from her agenda. Red would be the color for the day, the gown would have a darker red brocade accents on the underskirt with golden trim along the sleeves three quarter inch sleeves, and collar. A golden chain with a ruby and pearl pendant lay perfectly on her neck while her golden locks were pulled back into a braided burn also laced with golden chain. Her brother could say whatever he wanted about her, but at the very least Marine would appear every part the princess her family expected of her.
Arriving at the door of his study the woman paused taking a deep breath to calm what butterflies had stirred in the pit of her stomach as she waited for her brother's guard to open the door. Blue eyes glanced over to one of her brother's soldiers, one she had previously encountered, narrowing her gaze at him before entering the now opened room. Approaching the desk behind which she assumed her brother to be seated although his back was turned to her, "You asked to see me your highness?" Formality was of second nature to the Princess as she rarely dropped the titles that her family members held unless specifically asked to do so. Curtsying lowly to her brother Martine had no idea that he had no only invited herself, but that her cousin Olympe would be joining them if not already there...
