Daniel was, honestly, a bit nervous as he had himself "locked" away in the study of their home with the hopes of penning a letter. Of course he knew how letters went and all, and he had a vague impression of what he wanted to say, but every time he thought of the recipient his mind became a crippled useless thing and his stomach threatened to see him ill. He was worrying at his lip, while he scribbled the header of the letter, the salutations, then he stared idly at the parchment.
Now what did he put down? He wrote a line, then started another and paused mid-way through. It sounded ridiculous. He scratched out a word, and grew frustrated, but managed to etch out one word after another. Finally he had himself a complete letter, and had to convince himself to see it sent off. Daniel had half a second's thought to call to his sibling to see what she thought of the letter, but then shook the idea off. A bad idea. He did not need her to see it and use it forever to torture him. None of his family, truthfully, would let him live it down.
The young Lord's cheeks flushed and finally he folded the piece of parchment, rummaged around for wax, heat and seal... and done was his task. He just had to inconspicuously give it to a discreet servant who would see it sent to Vasile.

To Princess Marie-Louise Deveraux,
I am writing to you because I was hoping to make certain your travels were safe, and that you are now in Vasile. I know you travel well accompanied, with your Father the Lord Marshall, butI was one could never be too sure. I can still remember the cookies you brought when we first met, they were really very good, and you were very kind. I hope you are not gone too long.
Yours truly,
Lord Daniel
