Princess Martine prided herself on refinement, on careful introspection, and most of all on control of her emotions. Yet, when she had found out that Emile would be among those leaving for Vasile the young woman had not handled it well, at all. Thankfully, her breakdown had been mostly limited to the solidarity of her room, so she wouldn't have to face rebuke from her father or Stephane. Yet, her room, and even the castle, in that moment made the young woman feel trapped by not only the walls but those within them. Confiding in anyone there was far too dangerous, and in the end exceptionally pointless, and there was only one way she truly knew to reset herself, her music.
Slipping away from the palace with a sole escort in tow was easy enough however considering all the preparations that were being made. A single guard, a man she mostly trusted, escorted the Princess to the Lakeside where she hoped to find not only an escape but peace away from her own realty. If the beautiful scenery of the sparkling water against the bright sky did not inspire the young woman to find a sense of calm then Martine didn't think there would be any helping her mood. A dark green blanket was laid out on the ground in front of a large tree that shaded the woman's delicately pale skin. Next to her a leather bond journal full of scribbled words, jotted notes, and bars of music reflecting her recent compositions was laid open with an ink pen resting on the pages. The blonde woman herself was curled up on the blanket wither lute on her lap as her fingers strummed and plucked at the strings. She wore the purple color of her house yet the dress was not ostentatious considering the fact she was indeed in the outdoors. Long locks of blonde hair brushed against her cheeks as the girl played at a song before testing out the lyrics she had recently penned.

(sorry I'm rusty. This is the song I'm thinking, I couldn't find a lute version. )
