Caterina had a bit of a plan to put in motion. She obviously could not sit idle and do nothing, not while her reputation was in question. A man had been engaged to her, and then dumped her for her sister after all, a fact that she could neither forget nor forgive at this point. However much she hadn't cared for the match or its intentions, Cat couldn't stand to have a Deliambre jerk stand her up like this. If anything, it just went to show his character, and in that sense she was glad to have dodged this bullet. If her sister was so eager to marry into that family, then so she could - but Cat wasn't going to be happy for it, and she wasn't going to let Joanna steal her thunder.
Choosing not to wait, instead making plans all of her own, Cat decided on the day to take action. It would take a bit of luck, much effort, and some careful planning, but she was confident in her ability to pull it all off. For now, the step in her plan was simple. There were some ladies whom she wished to befriend, for their social influence, their position, and how she forecasted things to come. While this get-together in Bordelaix was intended to celebrate the Crowned Princess, it seemed that there was, more than ever, preparations in the opposite direction. That was her impression, at least. She wasn't privy to most of the men's conversations.
Having asked Elena a bit about her cousins, which also pointed her for a brief stint towards her own rather removed jeweler cousin Mateo, she was armed with as much detail as she felt necessary. She'd asked him a favor of letting her know next he and the Sandoval woman were getting together for their enterprising, and tagged along. A few shoppers had come by, which Cat found intriguing to know who shopped there, but it wasn't until the Lady herself arrived, as pointed out by her cousin subtly, that Cat stood from her seat. The seating area was a new addition after re-arranging a few things.
Mateo greeted her first, then quickly introduced Cat, who was quick to take up the mantle. "Lady Maricela," she started, and gave a deep curtsy. "I hope you do not mind, I have strong-armed my cousin into letting me come by... I've heard much of your artistic talent and, as interested in fashion as I am, thought it best I meet the designer that everyone seems to be raving about." She gushed, a smile pasted on her face, and her tone indicating genuine interest. Cat hoped the woman wouldn't be too put off by a slight change in her plans, although at least now they were introduced so Cat considered it a win.
