Character Name:
Luisa Sandoval
Age:
23
Gender:
Female
Birthdate:
10 July 1404
City / Region:
Talencia, Nacimiento
House [ Birth, Marriage if applicable ]:
Born of House Sandoval
Played by:
Eva Bourne
Appearance:
Luisa Sandoval considers to be the loveliest rose in all of Nacimiento. She has a very ovular face with a thin and pointed chin, perched on a long neck. Her eyes are rounded and are of a shiny brown colour -- nearly black. Her nose is thin, yet a bit larger at its upturned point. She has small dark eyebrows that appear to be in a constant raised position. Her lips are of average size, and is always slightly smirking. Her hair reaches to about the middle of her upper arm, though is always pulled in a tight bun.
She stands a little over five and a half feet, and is very thin in size. Luisa wears very billowing dresses, puffy below the waist and very tight at her mid, as she also wears corsets. She has very narrow shoulders, but tend to look slightly broader when she wears her normal attire. A majority of her clothing is pale colours, usually tints of orange or pink. She is never seen without gloves, save for when she retires to her chambers. She wears very little jewelry, claiming that anything more than perhaps a simple necklace is over compensation.
Personality:
Despite her innocent appearance, Luisa is truly a powerhouse. She has not official power, and seldom uses the monetary influence she has, but she has no need to. Luisa is a master of charisma, and is always to be seen at social events, large scale and intimate alike. She likes virtually no one, but she can make almost anyone think that she is their closest friend. She is sweet and charming to all she meets.
However, Luisa is not as pure as she lets on to be. Rather, she tends to look for ways to influence people to her desires. If you stand in her way, she will see to it that your reputation shall be ruined. She likes to leave her hands clean, however. A subtle comment here and there, and the whisper campaign begins. Virtually everyone knows she loves to listen to gossip... but almost no one realizes she is the biggest gossip there is.
The only people Luisa really gets along with is those within the House of Sandoval. She believes that family is very important, but cooperation to get back on the throne is even more important. Luisa believes that the Sandovals are the true rulers of Archades, and that they are deserving of the praise that comes along with it. She has no desire to get on the throne herself, but would love to see a member of the family that is rather persuadable take the crown.
Specific Skills or Abilities:
* Socializing: Luisa is a brilliant conversationalist, and is able to win over just about anyone she comes into contact with
* Persuasion: Luisa is rather charming, and can usually find people that will do what she asks rather quickly
* Subterfuge: Luisa is skilled at misdirection and covering tracks, usually to keep herself out of suspicion
Character History:
Born the second eldest child of Emilio Sandoval, Luisa was much a disappointment to her father. She was yet another daughter, and not even the eldest one, she was largely ignored by her father. Instead, she was left to receive love from her mother and governesses. She never found much genuine attachment from them, and constantly strove to impress her father growing up. From an early age, she felt the need to be loved.
As a child, Luisa found herself spending time romanticizing Court and all the various events that went on throughout Nacimiento. She enjoyed the people, but more accurately, she enjoyed when they spoke with her. She loved the attention they gave her, even if it was in passing. It didn't matter to her. They were spending time with her, and that was all she really wanted.
As she aged, Luisa became more and more prominent within the court. She was a beautiful young woman, and was well versed in etiquette. She was a shining pearl in her own right, and people flocked to her. She had an air of kindness, and she seemed to enjoy everyone's company. But in reality, it wasn't them she cared about. It was the way she seemed to be loved. If being selfless was what the people loved about her, then she'd be as charitable as she could be.
As a young adult, Luisa found a true purpose in life. She had the social influence, so why not use it to her advantage. She knew the struggles her family had gone through since they had been wrongfully thrown off the throne, and she knew that they needed to get back on the crown. She does her best to get people to see things her way, and within Nacimiento, she has been relatively successful. And while she would love to have the love of all people -- the love that one gets from being a monarch -- she knows that having a woman on the throne would be tragic for the Sandovals, and is willing to give that up for the good of the family. As long as she gets a place of power behind the scenes.
Writing Sample:
Luisa stood outside her family's home on the terrace, looking out on the water. The air was getting colder, but it was beautiful out. Not that Luisa was paying much attention to anything. She was lost in her mind, as usual. When she wasn't at a formal event, she was lost in the recesses of her mind, silently daydreaming about the day the Sandoval family would reclaim their rightful place on the throne. Oh, how lovely it would be. Most likely one of her cousins would be king, but that was to be expected. Not that she particularly cared who was on the throne, as long as it wasn't her. She would never be so daft as to place herself in such a prime position to be taken over. Not like their ancestors.
Her mind was brought back into the present as she heard one of the servants approaching behind her. Oh, dinner was ready. Excellent. Luisa gave the man a brief smile and a thanks, her face looking rather disinterested once he looked away. She never cared much for conversation with the servants -- they were so positively dreadful. But servants talked, and she knew how devastating gossip could be. It was far better to stay on their good side.
