Character Name:
Alaia Saavedra
Age:
18
Gender: Female
Birthdate:
14 January 1409
City / Region:
Cervo, Estersea
House [ Birth, Marriage if applicable ]:
Born of House Saavedra
Played by:
Ezgi Eyuboglu
Appearance:
Alaia has a rounded face that is shrouded by medium length curly brown hair. While she has a lovely smile, her neutral expression borderlines on a constant scowl. Just above her lips, Alaia has a small mole that can usually only be seen when one is close to her. Her large round eyes are a dark hazel, but look more green in the bright light. Her eyebrows are almost touching her eyes, and are long and bushy. She has a high forehead, though it is generally covered by a side swoop of her hair.
For attire, Alaia can often be found in richly made dresses. Red is the most prominent colour in her wardrobe, but she varies her dresses with any bright tint of various colours. Unless she is dressing for a very formal event, her dresses are very loose, giving her much freedom of motion.
Personality:
Alaia is a very spoiled and bratty young woman. Since she was a young girl, she has been given whatever she wanted, which has led to a very demanding personality. She expects things to be done her way, and when they aren't, she gets irrationally angry. She doesn't exactly understand the need for rules and etiquette, as it usually gets in the way of what she wants. More often than not, she will be breaking nearly every rule there is.
She is unable to get very close to people, a mixed result of poor bonding in her later years, and an unconscious defense after a majority of her family was massacred. That being said, very few people can tolerate her, and even fewer have a wish to interact with her at all. However, she can be quite flirtatious, and has a few rumours circulating about of her being a bit of a harlot. She does not confirm these rumours... but she doesn't deny them either.
Specific Skills or Abilities:
*Singing: Songs are one of the few things Alaia has more than a passing interest in, and she has quite a natural talent for singing.
*Decor: Alaia has an eye for design, and is rather skilled in decoration, be it in court fashion or floral arraignments.
*Bartering/Economics: While completely inept in most areas where the mind is being used, Alaia can stretch gold to maximize her shopping. She also can fast talk merchants into giving her better deals... though usually only male merchants
Character History:
Born the youngest of many children, Alaia was coddled from a very young age. Being somewhere around seven years younger than her sibling closest in age, her mother was able to give her all the attention she needed, and then some. She was raised getting whatever she wanted, which, in her early years, were little more than flowers and things to play with. She had a happy childhood to say the least, needing nothing and having everything.
When she was but a child, tragedy struck. Her family was attacked, leaving most of its members dead. Only a few survived, Alaia included. And orphan, she began to live with her eldest surviving brother, Daario. He had no experience in raising a child, and often would make up for it with material objects. Alaia found solace in these items, and began to grow accustomed to having whatever she wanted -- this time, wealthier and prettier items. And on the off times she didn't get her way, she would lash out, not liking anyone standing between her and her wants.
As a young woman, Alaia barely has any semblance of an adult mentality. She is very childish, due to years of a spoiled childhood. She refused to may much attention in her lectures, and is quite unaware of the world. At the present, she desires to have more freedoms than she currently does. She wishes to live in the capital -- the royal palace, no less. After all, why shouldn't she have the crown? No one is more deserving of it than her, in Alaia's mind.
Writing Sample:
Alaia waltzed about her family's residence, groaning quite audibly. She was bored. No, that wasn't it. She was very bored. There was absolutely nothing to do in this forsaken castle. She wasn't tired enough to sleep, nor was she hungry enough to eat. She considered going for a ride to at least pass the time, but horses seemed to hate her. Besides, they were always so noisy.
She hummed a melody as she passed into the main corridor, frivolously spinning as she did. If only they were in Bordelaix. Maybe then she'd fine something to do. Anything was better than where she was now. As she spun, she rammed into a servant coming out of a side room. Alaia stumbled a bit, then spun around, glaring at the woman.
"How dare you?!" she screeched, shoving the servant to the ground. "You stupid wench!" Alaia sneered at the woman, stomping off with a loud grunt. People were so stupid! She was lucky she wasn't hurt more. Servants were so dumb. And foolish. Why did they keep them around, anyways? All they did was clean and cook, but nothing was dirty and there was always food. It was just plain ridiculous. When she would inevitably become queen, she would be sure to send all the servants out of the kingdom to live their days with the rest of their dirty selves.
