Receiving confirmation that the Countess of Vielha was willing to meet with her and begin to talk of business matters, Flavia made the necessary arrangements for them to enjoy the autumn afternoon. She cleared her schedule so that she could devote the entirety of her attention to Tamara, intending to forge a friendship with the younger Countess amidst the business of their respective counties. There was no reason they could not manage both - women were well known for their abilities to multitask, after all.
Sending the servants ahead to a specified mid-point to set up a pavilion with some creature comforts that that the women could enjoy while they talked, Flavia ordered her mare saddled and waiting shortly before the third hour past noon. While she tended to her attire, she quickly reviewed the information on the trade goods that Vielha had to offer, and the family's recent tragedies; she was not one to risk a faux pas by touching on a notably sensitive subject. A shame that the Fontaines had endured such loss in the Count and his primary heir; Tamara had gained her title at great cost. Flavia couldn't help noticing that most of the women in Archades who held title were in similar situations. Herself, Tamara, the young countess of Terre Verde, if rumor was to be believed.
Shaking her head as she affixed a hat to her head at a fashionable angle, the Countess of Treveno descended to the courtyard and allowed the waiting groom to assist her into the saddle. Thanking the young man, Flavia glanced to the guard who invariably accompanied her, exchanging a few quiet words with him before they headed off to the agreed-upon meeting point, intending to be a few minutes early to greet Lady Fontaine.
She was rather looking forward to today.
