In the wake of his meeting with the Caliph of Rohari, Remy took the time to consider his next moves carefully. There were allies to be made, a bank to expand, and business to conduct. If he could then broker marriages while he was at it for several of his siblings or cousins, so much the better. Accordingly, his eye fell on the heretofore aloof Count of Cervo.
Questions asked netted him the information on the tragedy that ravaged the Saavedra family, their current state of affairs and their putative allegiances. A vassal of Zorion Ibarra, Daario Saavedra was no friend to the Deveraux, a fact that Remy found appealing. Deeming the Count the next to approach in his plans, Remy requested a meeting with Lord Saavedra at his warehouse office. Doing so ensured they enjoyed significant privacy, though he anticipated the man would arrive with one of his guards in tow.
Waiting for his guest, he'd had some refreshments prepared to provide basic hospitality and a comfortable seating area situated where they would talk as the equals they were. Remy was rather looking forward to meeting Daario Saavedra on a number of levels and hopefully enjoying a measure of frank discussion on several topics affecting both men. The Count of Oria was dressed soberly in a dark grey doublet and black breeches with low boots, the silver hawthorne pin on his breast.
The guards at the door to the warehouse had instructions to admit Lord Saavedra immediately on his arrival, passing the man to his waiting factotum, who would usher him directly up to the Count. It was a fine morning for a meeting between two lords of creation.
