Adair couldn't shake the feeling that a great deal had transpired in and among the Cameron family prior to his arrival in Bordelaix. Keeping his eyes and ears open for the first few days had netted some, but not all, of the information he needed to make a complete picture of just what he was walking into now that Tam was being sent home to Marlowe and Father was on his way. Deciding to seek out his cousin first, rather than one of the women, he invited Ian out to ride in the hopes that his cousin would feel freer to talk candidly.
Every family had their fits and foibles, he knew. That was just a side effect of living, and the Camerons were a family that definitely lived. Even his dear old father, bless him, was not shy about his enjoyment of life. Niall Cameron bequeathed that passion, that thirst for going, for doing, for being to every member of his family, be they sibling, child, or cousin. It was - to put it simply - a trait that bred true more often than not in each and every Cameron.
Occasionally, that zeal went a little too far and stirred up some problems for the family. Nothing major thus far, for which Adair was truly grateful, but he wanted to ensure it stayed that way. And if there were any kindling fires he needed to put out, then he needed to know what they were. He disliked walking in blindly, but Isobel was already in Vasile when he'd arrived, and Kenna injured so she was out of most of it. Ian, on the other hand, appeared to be in the thick of it.
Adair couldn't wait to hear what his cousin had to say... and he was not looking for the condensed version of those events either. He wanted the whole story, nose to tail.
