As Marshal stuck in the capital Rowan's duties were simultaneously easier and harder at the same time, while the devices of the guardsmen at home were something out of his control and left in the hands of a Castellan he appointed while court was still in session. He instead had to worry about it constantly and focus on the retinue of men he brought with him to guard the villa, and household in the capital. But that unfortunately brought new issues, men were away from families, they had to be fed, they had needs and wants and usually that created a drop in morale.
Rowan upon awaking had such an inkling of it and made sure to assemble the household guard in formation, checking on their uniforms, their discipline, conditions of their weapons to determine morale. That morning one of them were missing, his belongings were still intact, but his leather armor left behind. Rowan knew the man, he'd been serving the household for nearly a decade and honestly he was a better guard than he was a farmer. That was something Rowan could relate to so he was glad to accept him as a guardsman to the House.
But now he was missing, which found Rowan wandering the streets of the Lilac Quarter in the middle of the early afternoon, with two guards of him own as he went about surveying the streets and more particular making a stop at each house belonging to a working girl. He'd already gotten reports from a witness that he was seen in the company of about two different women heading over to some flop house in the more grimy corner of the Quarter, as if it could be anymore grimy then it was.
Hell Rowan had half a mind to train his men here just to get them used to the smell and crowd that is if he didn't fear the upstart of a plague at any given moment... he'd been to week old, body strewn battle grounds that smells better, it was like a clean breeze avoided this place. He stopped at a dead end with a flop house on either sides and with silent hand gestures, the men split up each going into a flop house to check it while Rowan looked around, keeping a good check of his surroundings.
