Maricela was in some ways pleased that the festival was drawing to a close. She was obviously more than a hair biased on the matter, but it seemed to her that had the House of Sandoval been hosts, the whole thing would have been better. Don’t ask her to qualify her objections, but if it was of House Deveraux, it was automatically sub-par.
Now that there wasn’t some other official function in the city, Maricela was free to entertain ideas of her own, without being in direct competition for attendance which she might not win. Frankly, though it would make her gleeful to have the noble ladies snub the Deveraux Princesses by attending her event(s) in lieu of theirs, an absence from a Royal party was not without repercussions. It just reaffirmed her need for her family to become Royals officially once more.
Ideas were buzzing about the brunette’s head. She didn’t quite hum but she was notably good humoured of late, more and more so as she bore witness to the disarray that was Bordelaix. She did not feel the pressure to hurry because she found her opponent in this case to be lacking and not of much competition. Still, she plotted, and considered.
It was morning and still she was thinking ahead. What to do today? Whom to rub elbows with? Whom to dine with? Should she put in an appearance at Court? She was already dressed by the time she breached the dining hall in the Sandoval villa, a little bit later into the morning hours than usual. To her surprise, she wasn’t the only one having a later morning. “So much for the early bird, today, hmm? Did you spend a good eve?” She inquired, a knowing smile to her lips while she was helped into a lavish chair by a servant.
