Reed was finally moving forward in finding places for his family members and securing their futures. For some, that was going to be a very real challenge, but others were surprising him with what they wanted and how it could be achieved. He had accepted that his cousin Sage was not the marrying kind but he also knew she needed a challenge, something in her life that would give her purpose. Annemarie had surprised him, ambushing him on Sage's behalf to make a suggestion about Sage's future. He had been surprised to say the least but the more he thought about it, the more he saw how it suited Sage. Deciding to see what he could do, he went looking for the Lord Marshal.
This was going to probably be the strangest request or offer he had ever made, not sure how the Lord Marshal would react to the idea. It had nothing to do with Sage's gender, that much Reed knew. There were a few female knights, and there were females serving in the Army in soldierly capacity. He knew Sage would fit in well with their ranks, but hopefully the Lord Marshal would see that too.
Finding out that the Marshal liked to train first thing in the morning made that a good place where he could approach the man. Reed liked to get up early himself, doing a little of his own training, so this morning he was waiting for the Marshal to join him and see if they could share a round while they talked. The sun was barely up and the dew was still thick on the grass as he walked around the ring to warm up his muscles, keeping an eye out for Jean-Luc. The Marshal would be along soon, he knew, and then they'd see what could be arranged.
