"Could you please announce to Lord Gardiner that Lord Wilhelm of House Romanov requests an audience with him as soon as possible." The young man spoke to a nearby castle aide as he continued on his way towards the Grand Hall where it was custom for lords to receive their guests upon arrival. Wilhelm hadn't just arrived, but it was still the traditional and proper spot to head until he got word from Lord Gardiner. Reed would make it known if he wished for a different location for their meeting.
The chances were quite high that the lord already knew of his presence. If a young girl had been able to recognize his pin out of a crowd in the marketplace that afternoon. It was only natural to believe that Reed's guards or aides had also recognized this unknown Romanov guest in their city in the past few hours. His arrival with only a few soldiers on horseback at sundown had allowed him to make a subtle entrance into the city. Something that had probably looked rather unworthy of attention so soon after the arrival of the royal retinue a few days earlier.
The Romanov lord came to a halt a couple of feet in front of what he imagined was where the lord seated when he was present in the Grand Hall. Glancing down at his tunic one last time to ensure that he was presentable, Wilhelm kept his hands down and arms cross in front of him as he patiently waited for news about his request for an audience. Hopefully, Lord Gardiner had a small lapse of time to offer to him between the duties of hosting a royal retinue demanded.
