When Donatien started on the path of justice, he had always known it was not going to be an easy one. The wicked, for understandable reasons, always sought to avoid justice so that they might continue to inflict their greedy ways upon the unfortunate. During the past several years, Donatien had learned just to what depths those of evil were willing to plumb just to keep going for one more day. Truthfully, the knight found it more than a little fascinating... but he never told anyone that.
The man had arrived in Bordelaix well in advance to the rest of the family. He was on two missions. One was short term while the other was an ongoing investigation of several years. The former involved the raiding of a merchant convoy out of Terre Verde. A shipment of wine and brandy destined for Gilboa turned up missing. It was reasonable to assume that the thieves, rather than drink it all, would attempt to turn a profit. That investigate led Donatien to Bordelaix. This proved fortuitous, since it would make his other task far easier.
Upon receiving word that Antonio and Daniela had arrived in Bordelaix, Donatien deemed it appropriate to report to his lord. Dressed in the simple garb of a traveler, the knight calmly approached the Savarese holding. It was only by showing the signet ring in his possession to the house guard that he was allowed entrance. True, Donatien had arrived unannounced, but he had a good feeling Antonio would not complain overly much. Nonetheless, he did politely request a servant go seek him out and request an audience.
