Gender: Male
Birthdate: October 6, 1404
City / Region: Laguardio, Calandria
House [ Birth, Marriage if applicable]: Capitani by birth

Appearance :
Horatio stands at 6'1 with a slender frame that belies the strength and muscle he possesses. His hair is dark brown, slightly long and shaggy, and one lock keeps falling into his left eye. His eyes are the blue of a calm lake on a summer's day and have an intense gleam in them and he usually has a bit of five o'clock shadow. He usually dresses in simple clothing styles because he's not fond of frills and prefers soft linens for casual clothing and silk for fancier occasions. His favorite colors are brown, grey, and dark green. The only pieces of jewelry that he wears are a simple pendent with his House crest upon it and a heavy silver link bracelet on his left wrist. He always wears boots and they're always black. When he smiles it's a very pleasant one that brings attention to his full lips. He wears a dagger on his left hip.
Specific Skills or Abilities:
Horatio is equally skilled in the use of a long sword and a falchion and nearly as skilled with rondel daggers. He's proficient with a crossbow and an expert horse rider. He's also a swift runner and strong swimmer. As a hobby Horatio carves wood.
Personality:
Horatio is honest and keeps his word. He doesn’t want to take up the trade business father wishes him to so they have a strained relationship and arguments, because Horatio wants to be his own person and live life by his own accomplishments and not those chosen for him. Horatio favors his uncle Umberto more and aspires to be like him. He actually is closer to Umberto than to his brother Giovanni, though he loves them both dearly.
Background:
Honest, fair, and a man who keeps his word Horatio strives to be much like his uncle Umberto; whom Horatio greatly admires. His relationship with his father on the other hand......isn't as close because he doesn’t want to take up the business of trading like his father wants. He'd rather leave that up to his older brother Giovanni. That issue and communication problems have caused a strained relationship, which more often than not leads to arguments. Horatio does enjoy the sea though, so he would much prefer to work in the fishing or sailing aspect of things.
Horatio's childhood was much like any other. He loved his parents deeply; it wasn't until he was older that the relationship between he and his father started to erode, though the one with his mother was still strong. He got along well with his siblings and adores his younger (and only) sister. He was an alright student when he worked at his studies, usually getting good marks. He had a good head for numbers but not for history.
Since Horatio's family was involved in trade he had gone to the port with his family to check on things from time to time. The sight of the ships always filled him with awe and the sound of the waves was always soothing. He found he loved the sea and would spend a great deal of time watching everything that was going on whenever he was anywhere near them.
Horatio loves and cares for his siblings and especially adores his sister Rosa. He also loves his extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins and there's nothing he wouldn't do for family usually. Horatio is very intelligent, outgoing and charming while not being overly flirtatious. He enjoys being outdoors and loves the fresh air and the woods. He's good with all animals but has a strong connection with dogs or wolves. He has a better relationship with them than with his father. Horatio would love to study underneath his uncle Umberto's tutoring and to work besides him one day. He hopes that with the changes in the Monarchy that he'll find his fame and fortune one day.
Writing Sample:
Horatio stood on the fringe of the crowd, leaning idly against the wall and drinking ale. His eyes watched everything though, it paid to be observant for it kept one's purse upon one's person. Not that he had his purse on him this evening but long habits were not forgotten or abandoned easily, particularly the ones that worked well. He saw his uncle dancing with an attractive lady and his eyebrows rose up. For his uncle that was near miraculous. Horatio had honestly thought that after Umberto's wife had died that his uncle would never dance with any lady ever again who wasn't family in some fashion. The winds of change were blowing strong this evening!
