Tamhas had been taking a long stroll through the ground, enjoying the September sunshine when he came across a gabble of men sat together under a tent. There was mead flowing, and fishing rods running to a little stream but more than that, there were several men sparring and fighting. It caught his attention because none of them seemed to really know each other and yet they sat at piece together, showing off playfully to one another and enjoying the company without the politics. He watched, as he approached them, but generally the event just seemed haphazard, spontaneous and like it was good fun.
So naturally, he was attracted to the sight and redirected his footfalls towards them.
He wore loose fitting clothes, his shirt billowing open in the gentle breeze to show the mass of this man’s chest. He was a warrior, a gladiator and had recently been fondly compared to a mountain. He liked that. He liked the idea of that. Tamhas was a sight to be seen, tall as he was broad and build like an ox. And, as he approached a silence fell on those gathered around.
”Room for a little one?” He jested, casually and relaxed in his manner.
”Little.” Snorted a man dressed in dark grey, a knight perhaps, but grinned at Tam and nodded, ”The day is too hot for argument. Do you have a name, giant man? Be warned we have no interest in your second- this is a gathering without house or loyalties to a name. We are here to enjoy good drink, good fishing and good sport.”
Well that just about reminded him of home, so he grinned and nodded to the group, giving his name as ”Tam. And you seem to have the recipe for a good afternoon I am glad of your company already.”
”They call me Squire.” The leader grinned, handing Tam a mug of ale.
